Stripey, buzzy things

I often hear Mum and Dad use the words,

“Live and let live.”

The other week, I heard Dad telling someone,

“They don’t do me any harm, so I don’t do them any harm.”

I think he was talking about the little stripey buzzy things that fly in and out of a hole in the garden.

Spike showed me the hole the other week, because he thought I might be interested, but he walked quickly on.

I was only having a look – my nose was almost the right size, but I soon wished it wasn’t!

There were more than three of them (I can count to three 🙂 ) and all stuck to my fur! I bit at them, ran around a bit, bit at them again, then Mum caught up with me and made them go away.

Later on, Dad and Peter were doing some work on the hedge and it was Dad’s turn to run around,

“Right, that’s it!” he said, ” They’ve got me and Amos; I think it’s time to do something about them!”

Peter and Dad  did do something about them, but I don’t know what, because I had to stay in and couldn’t watch.

I wish I had been able to watch, because then I might have known what to do when I was at the vets yesterday! Mum says I’ve had my second vaccination and have been microchipped, but all I remember was lots of people to wriggle and wag my tail at, being cuddled by the vet and three nurses (they all wanted a turn) and being stung by  – – well, I didn’t see them or hear them, but they could only have been stripey, buzzy things.
