Dad didn’t come with us – – –

– – – – – – as he said it would be like watching someone else eat a bar of chocolate!

Mum takes photographs of me all the time, but not while I’m taking sheep to her – that would be very tricky!

– – – – – – so there are no photographs of Mum and me moving sheep about in Norfolk today.

I don’t think they trusted me to start with – only because I jumped over the fence (twice!) to get to the sheep while Mum was putting her boots on – shame she’d tied my lead to the fence post 😦

I didn’t wait my turn very patiently either – I made a lot of noise and scrabbled at the fence-wire with paws AND teeth – perhaps that’s why Dad didn’t come – he might have done the same!

They should have trusted me though, because once they let me loose, I did what I felt in my bones and didn’t do anything wrong.

I had eight sheep to move today – EIGHT! πŸ˜€

I “balanced” the sheep, watching only them or Mum (except for one bit, when an older and wiser sheepdog was sent in to help me get my little flock moving – I shot him a quick glance to say, “Thankyou!”)

I kept them in a tight group and pushed them towards Mum, wherever she went.

I stopped when I was told and even tolerated one of the sheep coming nose to nose with me!

I was keen, but calm.

No one had to shout at me or wave their arms about and Mum and I felt good!

Apparently, Mum’s going to have a lot of fun with me πŸ™‚

A great day out with Mum was made even better for being back home in time to help Dad put the ducks away and to feed the sheep-which-don’t-behave-like-proper-sheep πŸ˜€

  1. Well, you are having a lot of fun Amos. Sunday school and a day rounding up sheep in Norfolk! Has mum got any time left to do any knitting? You must not be selfish Amos, mum must keep knitting or she’ll get into trouble with her friends at the knitting club! πŸ™‚

  2. Ooh, I don’t want her to get into trouble!
I’ll see if I can find some of her knitting and take it to her πŸ™‚
Balls of wool look a lot like tennis balls, don’t they πŸ˜‰
