Christmas Surprise!

Yesterday was the best day ever! πŸ™‚

I knew it was going to be different.

Everyone was up early, the ducks were let out early, the sheep had an early breakfast and dinner was being cooked at breakfast time!

Then all the interesting parcels were being packed into boxes and bags and the car was loaded up. I was relieved to spot the leads, dog bowls and beds going in too.

Spike and I took up our place in the back – a smaller place than usual, because of all the parcels, though rather disappointingly, all the nice-smelling ones and the dinner were packed in the front. Graham is good at packing cars, apparently.

We went for a very l o n g ride (thank you, Peter and Dad, for mending the car), so long that it was almost dark when we got there!

We called in briefly at a pub, where everyone spoke excitedly of a “surprise!” Β but Spike and I had to stay outside.

As Spike waited patiently, I had to take the more active role in keeping an eye on where they’d gone and when they might be coming back!

I was pleased when they returned.

I thought I could smell Robert, but he didn’t come out with the others.

We then went to a place that smells of Robert. He wasn’t there though 😦

The dinner, the parcels, bowls of nuts and clementines and boxes of chocolate-that-we’re-not-allowed came out and stockings were hung in the hall.

Spike and I were taken for a walk on our leads and then – – – – – – – Β Robert appeared πŸ˜€

He was tired, but very happy to see us and smell the food and see the stockings and parcels and nuts and clementines and the boxes of chocolate-that-we’re-not-allowed.

At last our pack was all together!

Christmas was in the house where Robert lives and we were all very happy πŸ˜€

OH, and the interesting parcels from under the tree at home? Β There were bone shaped chews as big as I’d ever seen! We ate them as quickly as Mum had ever seen πŸ˜‰

And – –Β

a big Loopy for Spike and a new Frisbee for me πŸ˜€

We played with our new toys, ate our chews, played with our toys a bit more, ate our tea, played a bit more and then – – –

I hope you all had a nice Christmas too!

Mum likes my grin, but she thinks I was a bit too cheeky when I stood on the table :$ I could see through the window that way though and it was important not to lose sight of them – someone has to keep the pack together!
